SUMMARY:Responsible AI: Ethical Choices in the Age of Intelligent Machines
DESCRIPTION:Online or in Potsdam \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat if the next breakthrough in AI isn’t defined by what machines can do\, but by what they should do? In this presentation\, Dilem Kaya\, a member of SAP’s AI Ethics team and a master student at the Hasso Plattner Institute\, highlights the balance between ethical guidelines and technological progress in AI development. She focuses on the advancements of cutting-edge AI systems and their ability to achieve “beyond human-level” performance\, analyzing their implications for society and technology. With an emphasis on transparency\, accountability\, and human-centered design\, Dilem illustrates how these principles are shaping both the present and the future of advanced AI development. \n\n\n\nDilem Kaya is a Master student in Digital Health at the Hasso Plattner Institute and a working student in the AI Ethics team at SAP. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Coding and Software Engineering. Beyond her academic pursuits\, she is an active member of the Women in AI community and the AI Grid community as well as a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes. She regularly shares her insights as a speaker at renowned events and conferences in the field of AI. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets Teilnahme vor Ort\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets Teilnahme Online

SUMMARY:AI Workshop: Working with Embeddings V: Contextualized Embeddings with BERT
DESCRIPTION:Embeddings are the backbone of AI applications such as semantic search engines\, recommendation systems\, and intelligent chatbots. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBy converting text into numerical vectors\, they capture relationships\, meanings\, and patterns\, enabling machines to process data intelligently. They can improve recommendation systems by clustering product descriptions for personalized results\, cluster song lyrics by themes to create curated playlists or create a keyword-based matching system for CVs and job descriptions. In this hands-on workshop series\, you will dive into the world of embeddings and discover how to create and apply them effectively. \n\n\n\nTogether\, we will explore various paradigms\, test and refine embeddings for semantic search\, and evaluate their effectiveness in real-world scenarios. Each workshop stands alone\, so you can attend the topics that interest you most. No prior knowledge of embeddings is required\, but we recommend that you take our free OpenHPI course to brush up on the basics. \n\n\n\nA basic to intermediate understanding of Python and a laptop are all you need to get started. \n\n\n\nIn this workshop\, we will learn how advanced models such as BERT and Sentence Transformers generate embeddings that adapt to context\, making them ideal for complex natural language processing (NLP) tasks. You will experiment with pre-trained models and apply them to real-world challenges. \n\n\n\nAdditional Details: Who this workshop series is for: Developers\, data scientists\, and natural language process enthusiasts with basic to intermediate Python skills. \n\n\n\nWhat to bring: A laptop with Python installed. Further details will be provided before each workshop. \n\n\n\nOptional preparation: Brush up on the basics of embeddings with this free OpenHPI course: https://open.hpi.de/courses/embeddingsfornlp-kisz2023 \n\n\n\n\n\n\nTickets\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWebseite
